Well, not home really, but out of the hospital. We left the hospital around 11:30 am. They discharged her with prescriptions and directions of things for us to look out for. The main thing we want to avoid is a Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) Leak. The dura, which is the covering of the brain is like saran wrap and they sew it and glue it at the end of the surgery, but occasionally it leaks and you have to go back and they do a spinal tap and put in a lumbar drain. We have to look for any swelling or ballooning at the incision site.
Her voice sounds a little higher. She says it's because she can't hear out of her right ear. This is not permanent. It's a result of swelling and fluid from the surgery.
Here are some recent pictures from yesterday and today at the hospital:

Welcome "home," Susan! We are so glad to know you are improving.
Jeff has kept up with each blog post, but I think I will advise him to skip this one, due to the CSF stuff, LOL. Cassie and Carter know you have a "boo-boo," but that you are getting better, and every day they ask to see the picture Marty posted on the first day of your adventure.
I hope there is no swelling or balooning whatsoever, and you continue to recover well.
Susan looks beautiful---isn't it great to have long hair to cover up the scar? A few years back they would have done a doozy on that hair to clear it for the incision. Glad to hear all is moving in the right direction. Talk to you guys soon!
OH, I commented before the pictures went up- Susan, you look gorgeous! Amazing how well you look after what you just went through! Now the tots will ask to see these photos again and again.
I'm back. This time the tots are dictating comments to Aunt Susan:
Cassie: "Hi! Hi! Hi Aunt Susan! I wanna see Susan!"
Carter: "Birthday Party! Birthday Party!"
Erica: "Carter, do you want to say anything other than 'Happy Birthday?' How about telling Aunt Susan how pretty she looks?"
Carter: "Yeah!"
